Chelant Manufacturing Companies

Chelants, or chelating agents, are products used in many different categories such as food processing, agriculture, paper manufacturing, textiles manufacturing, dyeing, and water treatment. Chelants are found in everyday items such as laundry detergent and shampoo. Chelation can also be found in nature, geology, biochemistry, and microbiology. Chelants include compounds that all have the ability to coordinate with metal ions at two or more sites. This reduces the effects the metals would have had on the items they are being used on.

Complexes made up of chelated ions must be registered if they are created by chelant manufacturing companies. The chleating agent itself must always be registered but the substance generated after the reactions are not. Any substance created as a result of a chemical reaction when the agent works as intended will be exempt from registration. This is only if it is not manufactured, placed on the market, or imported.
