Gantry Robots Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

A gantry robot is a stationary robot that does not look anything like the classic image of a robot. Gantry robots can also be called Cartesian robots and usually contain at least three different motions. Each motion is set up to be perpendicular to one another and are generally labeled X,Y, and Z. Gantry robots can be made to be any size and have many advantages over other types of robots. One main advantage is that gantry robots have greater position accuracy.

The gantry robots pharmaceutical manufacturing process is the same as most industries. Gantry robots are usually part of an assembly line and help to manufacture the products. The main functions of gantry robots include assembling objects together and performing actions on the products. A robot that assembles an object together is referred to as a pick and place robot. The robots that perform actions can be programmed to do a variety of tasks such as drilling and welding.
